Rubondo Island National Park

Welcome to Rubondo Island National Park  Tanzania’s hidden Eden on the waters of Lake Victoria. This untouched paradise is where ancient forests meet shimmering lake shores, where rare wildlife thrives undisturbed, and where silence, serenity, and pure wilderness come together in one magical sanctuary.

Rubondo is a land of deep green forests, misty mornings, and mysterious wildlife encounters. It is home to habituated chimpanzees, giant forest trees, elephants, sitatungas, and over 300 bird species  all living freely on an island protected for decades.

More than a park, Rubondo is an island of secrets, a retreat for travelers seeking exclusivity, adventure, and intimate connections with nature. Every sound, every rustle, and every ripple on the lake tells a story.

Climate

Rubondo experiences an equatorial rainforest climate, cooler and more humid than mainland parks.

Temperatures

  • Day: 22°C – 30°C

  • Night: 18°C – 22°C
