Getting There

By Road:

  • From Kampala: 6–7 hours
  • Easily accessed via the Mbarara or Fort Portal routes
  • Roads pass through tea plantations, rolling hills, and traditional communities.

By Air:

  • Flights from Entebbe or Kampala to:
    • Kasese Airstrip
    • Mweya Airstrip
      Both are conveniently close to major lodges and park activities.

1. Tree-Climbing Lions of Ishasha

One of the park’s most famous highlights,lions that climb and rest in giant fig trees.
This rare behavior is seen in only a few places in Africa and makes the Ishasha sector a must-visit.
